In recent years, consumer habits and preferences have evolved significantly. Sustainability, environmental responsibility and care for natural resources have become key factors in purchasing decisions. Consumers demand products that are not only innovative and functional, but also respect the environment and promote the circular economy. Faced with this change in consumer mindset, the industry is challenged to adapt and transform its processes to offer solutions that are not only high quality but also environmentally responsible.

In this context, Krion® LUX has taken a pioneering approach with the Ecocycle® process, which recycles surplus material from Krion® LUX manufacturing to create new sustainable Solid Surface sheets.

  • Learn about the certifications of our sustainable sheets

What is Ecocycle®?

Ecocycle® is Krion's process that allows the recycling of surplus material generated during the manufacture of sheets, specifically cutting scraps, to create new sustainable solid surface sheets. These leftovers are transformed into chips, which are reincorporated into the production process, reducing waste and promoting the circular economy.

Recycled content

Krion® LUX offers sheets manufactured using the Ecocycle® process in different models, with recycled content percentages ranging from a minimum of 6%, 12%, 20% and 40%. Each model uses a specific percentage of recycled material, which helps to reduce the amount of waste generated during manufacturing.

Environmental impact

Each sheet manufactured with Ecocycle® contributes to waste savings, as the percentage of recycled material used in production is the same as the amount of waste avoided. In addition, the amount of CO2 equivalent emitted during the manufacture of Krion® LUX is 81.2 kg of CO2 per square metre, a figure that appears in our Environmental Product Declaration (EPD).

Benefits of Ecocycle® sustainable solid surface sheets

As an architect, using Krion Ecocycle® sheets in your projects not only means choosing a high-quality material, but also committing to a sustainable solution that is in line with current market demands.

  • Sustainability: using recycled materials helps reduce the environmental footprint of projects, contributing to the certification of sustainable and eco-friendly buildings.
  • High durability: Ecocycle® sheets maintain the same physical characteristics as other Krion® LUX sheets, ensuring high durability and long-term resistance.
  • Aesthetic variety: with different colours and finishes, the sheets offer versatile options that adapt to the design needs of each project.
  • Ease of maintenance: the almost non-porous surface of Krion® LUX makes the sheets easy to clean, stain resistant and completely repairable, reducing long-term maintenance costs.
  • Adaptability to different spaces: they are ideal for a wide range of applications in both commercial and residential spaces.
