Sparkasse (Regensburg): a modern, sustainable idea, using KRION in its new installations

Sparkasse (the name for savings banks in German speaking countries) was founded over two centuries ago by wealthy German merchants, intellectuals and academics, in order to encourage savings among the public, and reduce the needs of the poorest, guaranteeing minimal social welfare. There are currently around 450 savings banks operating in a network of over 16,000 branches and with 261,000 employees. In the case we are looking at, the lobby ofSparkasse Central (Regensburg, Germany) was originally planned as a reception with customer service personnel, but was ultimately converted into an... information area for clients who could register on a display upon arrival, and find out about new Sparkasse products. This is how the idea arose to create an Information ARENA which would use the circular shape of the premises. The solid surface from PORCELANOSA Group, KRION, was chosen by architects K R A N Z Das moderne Büro GmbH and designers Hornburg und Thumann GbR, thanks to its resistance, durability and quality, characteristics which represent the essential values of Sparkasse. We can find KRION in colours 6501 Cream and 6401 Red Fire, perfectly combined with the corporate colours of Sparkasse. The commercial units of this project have been perfectly combined with both colours to create the curved information point which incorporates screen supports and backlighting created with KRION6501 Cream. The 6401 Red Fire colour provides the corporate colour, used as a base for the bench, support and drawer unit. In the rear section next to the wall, we find a shelf, incorporating windows, created with 6501 Cream, used to present awards and certifications granted to Sparkasse. Sojo Spa Club is located in Edgewater, New Jersey, on the banks of the River Hudson, a few minutes from the bustling city of New York; a place to escape the city without leaving it. The feeling of relaxation in the air is due to the architecture studio in charge of the project, Virgona & Virgona Architects, which along with designer Eunmi Hwang, perfectly combined the fine materials of PORCELANOSA Group with latest generation materials such as KRION Solid Surface. This combination, along with its extraordinary and practical design, make Sojo Spa Club the ideal place to heal one’s... body and mind. Within the 70,000m2 of Sojo Spa Club, all kinds of treatments are found, as well as several swimming pools, notably the infinity pool which blends into the Hudson River and the Manhattan skyline. The facilities have a hotel, restaurants and all treatments and activities of a luxury spa. Several firms of the PORCELANOSA Group have participated in this spectacular project: L’Antic Colonial, Noken, Urbatek, Butech, KRION and Porcelanosa. The Deutsche Bahn station lounges in Germany are counting on KRION for their fittings

Founded on 1st January 1994, from the extinct railway companies that existed until the reunification, the main railway company in Germany, Deutsche Bahn AG,was born. With this company, we can travel on regional trains to discover the most beautiful spots, even at high-speed. An affordable and comfortable way to travel around the country. In March 2015, Deutsche Bahn launched a competition to develop a new concept of space, whose aim was to incorporate the customer’s desires according to the different needs for use during a stay in the DB Lounge. Despite the strong competition, CRi were... the winners of the competition. CRi Cronauer and Romani Innenarchitekten GmbH designed a new lounge concept in collaboration with the Deutsche Bahn. The style of the furniture brings us closer to the railway network, each one of the elements evokes a chapter of a journey, that takes us from the winding shape of the bar countertop which imitates a high-speed train, to the S shaped lines of the roof that transport us to the catenary and a bird’s-eye view of the tracks. For these fittings, they counted on the Solid Surface from the PORCELANOSAGroup, KRION. We can find KRION in the catering areas of some of the Deutsche Bahn AG stations, with its conversion into: reception desks, tables, self-service bars, seats… all of them in our colours 6101Frost White and 6401 Red Fire. Just Do It is the slogan of the American brand NIKE, a declaration of intentions, which year after year continues to encourage all who love this sports clothing giant. As one of the most globally renowned brands, the NIKE company takes care of details not only in its garments, but also in its facilities, and on this occasion it is the turn of the flagship store in London, located in Oxford Street. Located in a spectacular neoclassical building with a contemporary interior, its renovation has used the solid surface from PORCELANOSA Group, KRION®, in the covering of the four columns that... make up the aesthetic connection between the three floors, created as the main focus of the spacious facilities. Nike Town Oxford Street does not only sell products; customers can personalise their colours, designs and characteristics. This is also true of KRION®, a material which allows any type of project to be personalised to unprecedented extents. Uxbridge company AR18 Ltd, experts in KRION®, were in charge of manufacturing and installing the columns, created with 19mm KRION® Snow White 1100, on which the shoe sole design required machining and thermocurving our material, a complex work which AR18 completed in an extraordinary way.
