KRION® in the renovation of a house based on a photograph - “WESTON HOUSE”

In this project carried out in Altea, Alicante - Spain, in an exceptional case, we will begin by discussing the compact mineral from PORCELANOSA Group, leaving the architect who created the project, Antonio Maciá Mateu, to present his own view on this renovation which has not gone unnoticed.
The combination of wood and the pure white of KRION®, Snow White 1100 is a winning combination; but when thermocurving is combined with the smooth lines which merge with the wood, the result is spectacular. KRION® is recommended in the kitchen, not only for its aesthetics, but also for its ease of cleaning, its anti-bacterial properties without additives, its high resistance to fire and chemicals, and its certification as suitable for use with food, making it a highly desirable option.
Antonio Maciá Mateu: Architecto. “... it was necessary to have a point of reference, the work of an artist who properly captured the beauty of the curves and the calm movement: the work of photographer Edward H. Weston through one of his nude pictures taken in 1936 in which three longitudinal curves are defined, allowed the design of a three level piece of furniture which runs around the whole house, each level corresponding to one of the curves of the photograph. The dimensions of the section of the house establish a subtle relationship with the photography of Edward H. Weston. Psychological factors are important when using this method to plan the spaces of the house which, along with their functionality, technical solutions and needs, etc., had an almost holistic vision allowing greater comfort in the house…”
