Hotel Saint-Gelais, an elegant combination of the past with the avant-garde material KRION® - Solid Surface

At the centre of Angoulême, in the French region of Nouvelle-Aquitaine, what was formerly a Diocesan house is found, which since April 2016 has been the spectacular 4 star Hotel Saint-Gelais. This hotel has 12 rooms, a restaurant, meetings room, gym and a terrace with spectacular views.

Those in charge of undertaking this project were architects Pierre-Henri Bouchacourt and Tristán Dohy of the PH2B agency. This studio also meticulously designed and decorated this hotel with each of the objects that can be found in it, selecting the compact mineral from the PORCELANOSA Group, KRION®, for many elements in the rooms.

We can find KRION® in many of its applications, where the PH2B studio has used the properties of our material, including it in every corner of the rooms. The bathrooms of the rooms are notable, where KRION® functions as a separating vertical covering at the same time as functioning as the washbasin and headboard of the bed. Guests can also find our solid surface installed in the shower cabin, mirror, nightstand, and washbasins. Those in charge of creating these small works of art in KRION® from the designs of PH2B were transforming companyEal C’Design.
