For all architecture and design enthusiasts, Hotel Puerta América in Madrid is a point of reference, a place of pilgrimage which awakens the senses. With 13 floors, with the only connection of the shared space as a canvas, some of the best designers and architects of this century have given free rein to their imagination, creating spaces with very distinctive identity and personality. We can find the design and artistic expression of Zaha Hadid, Norman Foster, David Chipperfield, Plasma Studio, Victorio & Lucchino, Marc Newson, Ron Arad, Kathrin Findlay, Richard Gluckman, Arata Isozaki, Javier Mariscal and Fernando Salas, Jean Nouvel and now Rita Gasalla and her company Galöw, responsible for remodelling the lobby, which incorporates the revolutionary compact mineral from PORCELANOSA Group, KRION® K-LIFE 1100, the material that contributes to improving air quality thanks to its low emission of VOCs.
For KRION it has been a pleasure to form part of this project and incorporate Krion® K-LIFE 1100 into the windows of Hotel Puerta América; even more so, knowing that it is one of the first projects in which the air purifying material is incorporated in a reception in which a high transit of clients will benefit from the qualities of the material K-LIFE, which has been transformed into a monolithic piece taking up three sides of the reception, stretching 3.35 metres to the ceiling and extending 27 metres to the wall covering containing a videowall. The countertop and front of the cabinets in the reception are also made with KRION, but in this case with 6509 Moai from the COLORS series.
We would like to thank Rita Gasalla and Felipe Fernández, the management team of Galöw, for using our material KRION. Galöw is Spanish architecture and construction company specialised in high added value projects in which design and efficiency, both in the use of space and its impact on the environment, play a leading role. Galöw is responsible for nationally and internationally renowned projects for clients in the financial, hospitality, property and heritage sectors, among others.
